Pansophia Academy opened its doors in September 1995. The Academy is a K-12 facility, serving approximately 220 students and offering a progressive alternative in education, stressing individualized instruction and the integration of technology throughout. The curriculum incorporates a values education component emphasizing individual responsibility and the development of essential life skills.
The purpose of Pansophia Academy lies in the theory of John Comenius, a Greek philosopher, who taught, “Pansophia (universal wisdom) should be the legacy of all human beings.” The academy seeks to: 1) initiate students into “Higher Learning” and to prepare them for the world of work, 2) introduce and develop in each student the values upon with which America was founded—Honesty, Integrity, Respect, Compassion, Competence, Responsibility, Initiative, and Citizenship, 3) serve all students, from the most advanced to those who need extra attention, while upholding the highest quality standards.
The facility is located adjacent to the Branch County Career Center and Kellogg Community College. This allows for full collaboration with both of these educational institutions.
